How I got into concrete in Galt
I learned concrete under an old-school foreman who made us reset a form if the string line was off by a hair, and that habit stuck with me. I started Galt Concrete here in 2023, and I still run the jobs myself alongside our crew.
Most of our calls are driveways, patios, slabs and foundations for homeowners in Galt and the cities around it who want the job done right the first time. Galt is surrounded by unincorporated county land in both Sacramento and San Joaquin counties, so a house just past the city line falls under the county instead of the city, and we work on both sides of that line. You deal with the owner from start to finish
I come out to look at your job and write the estimate myself, and I'm on site working the pour with our crew. That way the plan we agreed on in your driveway is the one that gets built.
We spend our time on the base, forms and joints
We dig out and pack the base your slab sits on, set the forms true and cut control joints, the grooves that give concrete a planned place to crack. If the budget's tight, I'll steer you toward a plainer finish before I'll skimp on the base, because a nice surface can't save a slab that settles.
Straight answers about cracking and curing
Most concrete cracks somewhere, so before we pour I'll show you where the joints will guide those cracks. You'll also hear how long the slab needs to cure and gain strength before you walk or drive on it, and what upkeep looks like after.
We handle the permit side
I check whether your address falls under a city or the county, talk with that office about what your job needs and handle the permit paperwork when one is required. You won't have to figure out which counter to call.

The state contractors board requires a license for work that needs a building permit, uses employees or totals $1,000 or more in labor and materials, and a bigger job can't be split into smaller contracts to stay under that line. We're licensed and insured, so your driveway, patio or slab is covered on both counts.
City business license in Galt
The City of Galt requires a business license for anyone doing business inside the city limits, and contractors based out of town need the city's out-of-town license too. It's a fair question to ask any contractor before they start on your house.
